"Training with Paul Newt has transformed my body as well as my mind. Never have I seen or experienced such attention to detail that he applies to my individual needs and goals. The only regret I have is not finding him sooner. He has totally reset my mindset as to how I approach training. He genuinely invests in you, and that in itself is hard to find! What he has taught me and continues to teach me, I have realized I apply to so much more than just training. He has shown me I am capable of so much more than I thought, and gives me tools to reach goals I never even knew I had!" Reggie E.
"While you can't put a price on what a good personal trainer can teach you, if you are not willing to dedicate the time to training, then you're just fooling yourself. If a trainer tells you to warm up on the treadmill, or worse -- the elliptical machine, then run -- don't walk out of that gym. We all walk everyday, yet we're still fat. So, why would a trainer tell me to hit the treadmill? Marlene V.
"Experience had been very good. I have no complaints. Everything given to me is very easy to understand and explained on my own level and not over my head. That is a very important quality. I am very impressed with the attitude and strategy used.
Not bossy in any way and never really says no but explains why something wouldn't be good. I consider the training to be very professional and it works for me. Also, the fact that I can ask questions anytime and don't have to wait for a monthly session is a big plus. I also love the work area and the way it is taken care of and how it is a haven rather than a gym." ~Marlene V. David B.
"I have been working out for approximately 6 years and in 2013 I came to realize that I needed some good coaching and personal training. I was going to the gym 5-6 days a week at Edge 24 Hour Private Fitness in Dracut and I seemed to have reached some difficult plateaus I just could not get past. Now, I have known Paul for quite a long time now. One day, I saw a sign in the gym about personal training. So, I asked Paul if this was him and he said "It sure is!". I said, "I would like to set up some sessions", 8 to be exact. Before I knew it, I was on my way.
I wrote every exercise down in notebooks over the course of two years. Paul was able to take my notebooks home and evaluate them and find some of the small mistakes I was making that was holding up my progression. Paul also had me write down my diet information and he quickly was able to point out some dietary errors and helped me plug in more nutritious foods that were better suited for the type of training I was doing. So, now I have a more improved diet, a new set of exercises, and superior training knowledge that I can build on and that will last a lifetime. I am a very busy person and one of the things I struggle with is my gym routine, timing, and organization. What impressed me about this service was that Paul was able to customize a routine for me that worked really well with my schedule and allowed me to do some serious damage to those plateaus I was stuck on. On the days we met up, Paul was very motivating, intense, knowledgeable and strict. When I say "strict", I mean correcting my form and staying on track with the time in between sets as well as the appropriate time of rest needed. Paul always provided me with positive feedback. When Paul changed an exercise or a method of attacking the weight, he did so with a vast explanation in science and body mechanics. Paul went above and beyond for me because I had so many questions and he answered them all making me a much better all-around athlete. Even on the days we were not in a training session and I had a question, he always took time to help me. Paul was always on time and ready to go! His knowledge and experience is like none I have ever met. Paul is an extremely regimented person, highly motivating and energetic trainer. He will not allow you to fail or fall short, but only educate and motivate you to succeed, and reach and pass your goals. I cannot think of anything he could have done better because Paul is so thorough and knowledgeable. Since my personal training with Paul, I continue to impress myself with what I am able to achieve in the gym. I have a whole new way of approaching workouts that I will have for the rest of my life." ~David B. Shayla R.
"I have been a member of Edge 24 Hour Private Fitness for several years and I realized in March 2014 that I needed a boost in my routine.
I contacted Paul in April and have been training with him ever since. Paul takes the time to explain exercises, review diet, and answer any questions. Paul is motivating and keeps you striving for more. After six months of Paul's coaching, I have noticed a tremendous change both mentally and physically. If you are looking to get that little extra Edge, contact Paul!" ~Shayla R. Katie M."I would like to start by saying that I was an amazing athlete my whole life. I danced for 7 years, 6 days a week, and also fit in time to cheer-lead for some of those years. In high school, I decided to dedicate myself to the cheer-leading team full time and I was a flyer for 4 years (2 seasons out of each year). Valerie B."I hired Paul as my personal trainer back in March, 2011. Nicholas L."I come from a very athletic and physical background. I was a three sport athlete in high school (football, basketball, lacrosse) and went on to play football at the collegiate level. When not training with my team, I would work out in your typical commercial gym with a standard training program. After college, I continued my training and felt it was going okay, but knew I wanted more results, I wanted to be bigger, and stronger.
I began training with Paul, and to be honest, I thought I was in pretty good shape at the time, boy was I wrong. After just a few short weeks I realized that I was not even close to my maximum potential, and had some tough days ahead of me. Paul changed the way I viewed training. It became more than just lifting weights. My diet, my organizational structure, what I was doing in the gym, when, and how are just some samples of the topics covered by Paul. I grew from approx. 220lbs to approx. 295lbs over the course of 3 years. The entire time I stood at 6'5" and remained around 8% body fat. And to put it lightly, I was as strong as a BULL!! Soon after, I decided to fulfill my lifelong desire to join the military. I knew that I couldn't show up to Basic Training in my current physical condition and had some serious work ahead of me. I sat down with Paul roughly 16 weeks prior to my report date and we talked about the situation and what we had to do to get me to where I needed to be physically. Getting right to the point, I showed up to Basic Training weighing 255lbs at 5% body fat. I maxed every Physical Training test that was ever given to me with ease and I'm pretty sure scared the hell out of every Drill Sergeant there. Consequently, I entered the SFQC (Special Forces Qualification Course). The long road of physical and mental tests and challenges one must endure in order to become a Green Beret, arguably the most elite military soldier in our world's history. Again, I talked to Paul. We talked about what needed to be done, and how I needed to again alter my training protocol in order to keep my body in the proper condition. Although the specifics behind this course are classified, I can say without question, that it is the most physically challenging experience of my life. Paul's training guidance allowed me to not only remain relatively injury free but also give me the physical tools needed to graduate the course as the Distinguished Honor Graduate, an award reserved for the very best of its graduating class. I stand where I am now with great thanks and appreciation to Paul and what he has given me. I have no doubt... without him... I would not be where I am today." -Nicholas L. Brandon L."My name is Brandon "The Real Deal" Locke and I am training to become a professional wrestler... I have always been interested in working out and improving my body. I have worked out and created my own diet based on knowledge I have received from reading books and magazines. I have been weightlifting for about 10 years now.
I had made improvements on my own, but just could not get to the elite level I needed to be to compete... At this point, I decided to seek the help of a professional to see if I could reach new goals. I was seeking a trainer that could not only help me put on muscle, but also help me look lean. I hired Paul in June of 2009. At the time I met with Paul, I weighed 190lbs. The first time I met with Paul, I thought I knew everything about body building and dieting, but I was wrong. Paul changed everything I did. He gave me a new diet and a new exercise schedule. He showed me many different techniques, I had never known. Paul coached and provided not only advice when we where in the gym, but also answered occasional random questions that I would send him via text or email. It's now 5 months later and I have put on 30lbs of muscle. Today, as I write this, I'm weighing 220 lbs on an empty stomach (first thing in the morning). I look better then I ever have and everyone from my friends to the promoter of wrestling companies see this. (It's not all lighting!) If you want to get the next level, whether it personal or professional reasons, you need to get over to EDGE 24 Hour Fitness and train with Paul." -Brandon "The Real Deal" Locke Mark M."My name is Mark and I contacted Paul Newt for personal training in January 2012 after being fed up with my long-time nagging shoulder injury. A life-long hockey player and always in relatively good shape, I definitely let myself go over the past few years.
At 34-years-old, I never expected to be the strong kid I once was before hurting both shoulders in the gym about 12 years ago. Ever since the injuries, it’s affected me not only in the gym, but my day-to-day life as well. I would work out for about two weeks, tweak one of them again, and then be out for months at a time… having a hard time lifting my hands over my head and constant ‘cracking’ in both shoulders. The first thing Paul did was put me on an easy-to-follow rehab program that I am still incorporating into my exercise routines every week. It involved movements and specific exercises that once hurt me many of times in the past, but with his specific (and scientific) reasoning behind it, I was amazed at just how fast my shoulder felt better. It’s been six months since I’ve been working out on my own, following Paul’s outline, and I can’t believe that I’m pain-free and even stronger than I once was. I can do military presses behind my head – I honestly don’t know the last time I was able to do those. My max squats are up over 60 pounds since I began the program; my press is up 40 pounds, and I’m almost at the 400 pound mark on the deadlift. Paul also monitored my supplements and diet intake to make my gains (and losses) super easy. He is the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to exercise and diet, and has continued to be such a great motivator for me – text, emails – even after our training together. Whether you’re looking to rehab a nagging injury, tone-up, or get strong as a bull, you’ve got to get over to Edge 24 Hour Private Fitness and hire Paul Newt right now." -- Mark Marino www.BruinsDaily.com Facebook: Bruins Examiner Tweet: @_MarkMarino Matthew R.“As a future hockey prospect for D1 College Hockey and the United States Hockey League (USHL) Draft, my main goal was to get to the next level of training and increase my overall strength, power, and size. Within six months of working with Paul Newt of EDGE 24 Hour Private Fitness, I was able to learn great training techniques to build endurance, explosiveness and increase my overall performance on the ice. I have learned to balance a great diet while still accomplishing my goal to gain 25lbs of muscle. Paul Newt at EDGE 24 Hour Private Fitness has definitely helped me open the door for many new prospects and D1 College opportunities.” |
