An outstanding student with high achievements in math and science, Paul entered University of Massachusetts at Lowell's program for Engineering in Fall of 1989.  After spending 3.5 years in Engineering, Paul withdrew from school to follow his passions of competitive bodybuilding and opened a Sports Nutrition and Health Products Store.

A year later, after winning 1st Place Heavyweight Class in the Merrimack Valley Classic, Paul returned to UMASS at Lowell, switched into the Health Education & Promotion Program and graduated 2 years later with a Bachelor's of Science in Health Education & Promotion with a Minor in Psychology.  Paul also spent 1.5 years student teaching Health Education in the Chelmsford Public School System and helped develop the Fitness and Nutrition Curricula for the 7th and 8th grade programs.

In the years that followed, Paul continued to compete in Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, and even assembled and became part of a team that won 1st place in the New England Tug-of-War Championships 2 years in row.  In 2005, after 10 years in the Sports Nutrition and Health Products business, Paul finally realized a lifelong dream and opened a 24 hour gym, unique in it's design and the only one of its type, in Dracut, Massachusetts.

Paul is currently helping clients of all backgrounds and experience levels achieve their health and fitness goals and competing in Olympic Weightlifting in his free time.  Paul puts great effort into his training, teaching, and his own continuing education.  A great teacher is an eternal student.

RONALD CARDILLO
C.S.C.S.

"My introduction to the benefits of exercise started when I was about 14 years old. The summer before I got into high school my dad bought me my first weight set.  He thought it was a good idea for me to try and get stronger before Hockey tryouts that fall.  Sport specific training as many of us know it today was virtually non-existent 25 years ago.  The only athletes back then that were lifting weights were football players.  I was fortunate enough to realize early on the advantages to be gained by lifting weights.  It helped me off the ice just as much as it did on.  What started out as a year round hobby quickly evolved into a passion and eventually a lifestyle.

I graduated in 1998 from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree (concentration in Exercise Science). Shortly after I got out of school, I passed the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified  Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam and earned my  C.S.C.S.  The first few years after college were a great time for me.  This is when the real learning started.  I had a lot of irons in the fire at this time and got a great deal of exposure to various areas of exercise, nutrition, and health.  I was enthusiastically increasing my knowledge base, whenever and wherever I could.

I had the good fortune of attending numerous seminars held by some of the most respected strength coaches in the world.  I was lucky to travel and attend seminars held by likes of Charles Poliquin & Ian King.  That experience lead me to discover and study more of the innovators in the field like Louie Simmons, Barry Sears, and more recently Gary Taubes.  I was working part time as a Strength Coach.  Writing and implementing  training and nutrition programs for the athletes at Dracut High School.  I redesigned their gym while I was there to make it more conducive to training athletes.   I was working part time and studying under a great Chiropractor for about 2 years.  I was very close to going back to college in Iowa to be one.

I was also working at Paul Newt's retail store, Extreme Sports Nutrition, in Lowell MA- one of the first nutrition stores of its kind in the area.  It was there on a daily basis that I got a chance learn about and experiment with all of the latest and greatest trends in nutrition, diet,  and supplementation.  Soon after, I started to narrow my focus on personal training. I had clients ranging from high school athletes who wanted to gain size, to middle age women looking to drop a few dress sizes.   I started out in a big, commercial gym setting and quickly realized it was not the best setting for myself or for my clients.  Consequently, I signed on with  a small, private, personal training studio that was more along the lines of what I was looking for.  This eventually became the inspiration for opening my own home personal training studio.  Today, I have the privilege of teaching at the best facility in the area bar none-  Edge 24 Hour Private Fitness.

Now here I am pushing 40 years old and in best shape of my life.  I hear from time to time that I’m lucky. That I am fortunate because it comes easy to me. If prioritizing my health and having a tried and true plan to carry it out is lucky than I guess I am.   I like to think I’m prepared.  I like to think that all of countless hours of training, reading, and learning through trial and error have allowed me to create a lifestyle that is sustainable and obtainable for anyone else to follow if they so choose.  I would love to share that experience with you.
